New Year's Resolutions

Well.. I started my blog back in July and havent been on since. Oops!! This new year I have several BIG undertakings that are going on so I have promised myself that I will blog this year and keep track of 2010.

I am hoping this year is proves to be just as much of a blessing as 2009. I hafta admit 2009 was a GREAT year for me and my family. To start off the new year I am beginning a fast for church. Living Grace Church has challenged all of its attenders to do the "Daniel Fast". This is a 21 day fast where you eat ONLY fruits and veggies. After much prayer and research about this fast I have decided to accept Pastor Phil's challenge. I thought that a great way to keep myself accountable on this fast would be to blog about it. This coming Sunday at 6 pm will start a HUGE challenge for me. My prayer is that this fast will help me grow in my spiritual life, cleanse my body of impurities and build a stronger bond with my fellow church members.

Now as Health Educator I know I preach 5-9 A Day of Fruits and Veggies until I am blue in the face. LOL. But..... I regretably admit that I do not practice what I preach in that area as much as I should :( However, I do like fruits and veggies and think that part of the fast will be no BIGGIE for me. The HARD PART: NO DIET COKE ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Quite honestly the thought of no diet coke terrifies. I am SUPER addicted to diet coke and drink around 8-10 a day. In the past I have tried to quit several times and I just became moody, irritable and had terrible headaches. So my prayer is that God will give me the strength to conquer DIET COKE. (I know that sounds funny...but its really not that easy) I also pray for my friends and family.. I apologize in advance for any sudden moodiness..lol

I am excited about this fast, the new year and everything that 2010 holds for my friends, family, church and myself. I am welcoming 2010 with open arms, an open heart and an open mind. I really hope I hold myself accountable to blogging :)
